Best Ram I ever Bought!
Strengths: Excellent Cooling! Cool looking LED's

This was my 1st build and i did lots of research before i jumped the gun on this ram. Best one out there! Esp with the leds it comes with. You cant go wrong with these.

I've been buying Crucial RAM since 2001 and have never had any problems. The Ballistix Tracer memory is fast, stable, and adds a bit of bling to my system thanks to the LEDs.

This memory has not let me down for a single moment. I currently have all four of my memory slots filled with this memory without any issues. Overclocks like a dream as it should considering it has the infamous Micron chips. And for the price I paid for them, it was a steal!

This is great ram at an awesome price. I was able to push this ram past 900 mhz stable on a Gigabyte DS3R motherboard. The flashing LEDs are actually kinda cool. If you want solid, stable, overclock capable, flashing ram, this is your ticket.

Strengths: Micron D9, 925Mhz at 5-5-5-15 and 2.2v. very stable, consistent performer, looks
Weakness: run warm
Crucial Ballistic memory is a very consistent performer. I have had several kits that overclocked to over 900mhz. The memory likes 2.2v although i have gotten away with 2.1v. Modules are well made with good feel to them. Crucial rma support is very good. If your board supports this memory it should be a top choice at current DDR2 prices.

Strengths: Crucial quality with lifetime warranty. LED lights are great if you have a clear case.

Memory prices are dropping like a rock, and I had to pick this kit up when it went on rebate. Crucial makes great memory. No problem just dropping them in my computer, restarting it, and having my machine recognize them immediately. 2 extra gigs to your computer will definitely make a difference. I am not an overclocker so don't know how these will perform.

Strengths: Crucial's lifetime warranty is a big plus. Gotta love the lights on these sticks. 4-4-4-12 timings
Weakness: Price dropped after I bought them:(
Works fine in an Abit IP35 motherboard paired with a 1gb Tracer kit. 3gb is perfect for 32-bit XP. I haven't tried to overclock these but by other reports I'm sure they'd do fine. Runs successfully without errors in memtest at stock settings.

I purchased these Tracers to complete a recent build. I already had a set of Tracers without the pretty lights so I knew what I was getting. I've ran these out to over 1100MHz at 4-4-4-12 and to 870MHz at 3-3-3-8 timings. They have taken all the abuse I have thrown at them and I couldn't be happier with their performance.

These sticks are excellent with Micron D9 chips on the sticks. They are heavily overclockable and should easily reach 1066MHz with ease. Best ram I've used and definitely worth the price!

TopVery stable even at low voltage
Strengths: works well fast works at 1.8v
Weakness: not quite as fast as ocz equivalent
I've used this for a couple of months now in a couple of systems. Works fine in my desktop as well as my HTPC, both using Athlon X2 CPUs, though with different motherboards. Never had a problem at either 1.8v or 1.95v Vmem.

This memory is the ultimate computer enthusiast. Not only is it high performance memory (overclockable), but it also has tremendous eye appeal with its LED feature. It's also backed by one of the most respected names in the computer memory industry (Crucial). If you can afford it, don't hesitate to pick these up.

I liked the other pair that I had so much I bought another pair and don't regret it at all. I definitely recommend these as I only receive stellar performance from them and I get compliments all the time that they look really neat in my case.

I bought this unit as an affordable price after rebate. It is an excellent memory kit. The LED light is super good. I have a computer case to see through it inside.The installation is also easy,I don't need to make any modifications in the BIOS. For performance, the memory is really fast. I have used it for one month, didn't have any problems so far.

Strengths: LED lights, Micron D9 chips. Fast. Very good OC results
Weakness: Little warmer than the non LED memory
This Ballistix Tracer worked perfectly with my abit IP35-E motherboard. The LED lights looked really pretty. Overclocked them to 1000MHz at the default 2.2V without any problems and ran very stable so far. This is one of the best memory on the market.

This is a nice RAM upgrade from my 512MB to 2GB for Vista OS. I could feel the difference in speed in using some of the applications. There is more memory to run simultaneous programs at once. The LED lights is awesome. Installation is very easy and it is ready to go. Great price for this RAM during the promotion period. Thanks Crucial!

Weakness: Cant see any as of 3 weeks of use.
If you like the LED lights in your comp, then this is the RAM for you, but if you don't care for the LEDs then stick with the Reg ones for cheaper price.

TopCrucial Ballistix Tracer PC2 6400 2x1GB
Strengths: Performance, Bling and Price I paid for. :)
Weakness: None at all especially at price I paid.
D9GMH!!! First OC yield 500MHz no problem. I haven't OC further since I was using my brother's PC to OC but 500MHz 2.2v was no problem. There shouldn't be a issue to OC higher with less volts. This is RAM that was about $400 early this year.

The memory worked perfectly with Asus P5N-E motherboard. I did not have to make any modifications in the BIOS after installing the chips. I paid ~$40 for this memory and the RAM has performed to my expectations.

I installed 2GB (2x1GB) in a Asus p5b DELUXE WiFi mainboard. The install was easy. Only needed average pressure to click the modules in places. I already had 2GB of the same brand memory installed. The total memory came to 4GB of which only 3GB showed up under Windows XP professional. The only way to get around this limitation is to install the 64bit version of Windows XP or Windows Vista 64bit. Do not believe any other 'tricks' that will bypass this limitation. The 32bit operating systems are running into limitations.
The module worked quite well. I first ran memtest86 for 24hours without a single fault. I suggest everyone does the same, faulty memory still does occur, although rarely.
The lights on the memory modules are cute but not functional. The module itself easily overlocks to over 1000mhz.
A sure buy.

Strengths: Fast timings, LED lights, sleek looking heatspreaders
Weakness: Expensive if you don't get them when there is a rebate
This is definately the best value memory for your money if you get it when there is a rebate. The timings are the fastest available, and as a bonus, there are LED lights on the heatspreader that looks good if you have a side window in your case.

Bought these because of the LEDs since I just got a Case with see-through side panel. Due to the rebate, I paid no more than normal Ballistix line. Overclocked them to 1000MHz at 2.2V without any issue. I believe they can go higher but I don't have the time to optimize everything for now. Will try later. If you don't need the "bling-bling", just go for the regular ballistix. But these keep their value better. In short, very happy with this purchase!!

Granted, the LEDs only look good if you have a case to show them off in, but if you can afford the little extra over the regular Ballistix line, then why not? :) Have not had one problem using these with my MSI P6N Platinum, although I haven't spent the time overclocking yet. You definitely get what you pay for, and if you look around and have some patience, they can be had for a good price.

Strengths: Memory overclocks *extremely* well. The LEDs are unique and look nice.
Weakness: Runs hot. I recommend some kind of active cooling.
I have no problem running 1050MHz 5-5-4-10 with 2.05V running through them. I do have a 70mm mounted off to the side blowing air over them keeping them cool, otherwise they get a bit hot. Great memory overall.

This ram kit is really fantastic. With DFI p35, E6550, they can reach 1100mHz, 5-5-5-12 timings at 2.2V stable without a sweat. They looks so cool with top LED lights on. Now with the price drop of DDR2 memory, it's really nice to have a pair of these. The quality and stability of this ram is really superior to the ordinary value ddr2 rams.

Fast, great compatibility, overclocks well for those that want some extra speed, and comes with great memory timings. Some of the best DDR2 around for a great price. No need to overvolt because the 2.2volt normal setting should take you all the way to 1066mhz and maybe a little more.

LED? Why I ever need a memory w/. LED inside the case if I can't even see it? I bought it over standard Ballistix only because of the rebate. I personally don't care about LED at all. But the memory is truly fast! One of the best memory on the market!!

Very easy to get DDR2 memory for a low price these days and the Ballistix line is probably one of the best to purchase. Lifetime warranty like all memory now and they are usually touted as having the Micron D9 chips.

Strengths: LED, premium quality Micron memory chip, highly over and under clockable.
Weakness: Used to be pricey but recent offers make it a steal. No weakness whatsoever.
The Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC-6400 is a high quality ram that is based on the famed Micro D9 chips. Even though it is classed as 800MHz ram but the Ballistix Tracer can be over-clocked to go as faster PC8500 RAMs without introducing any instablilities. The following 4 settings are in its SPD:
4-5-5-15 1.8v 333MHz
5-5-5-18 1.8v 400MHz
4-4-4-12 2.2v 400MHz
4-4-4-15 2.2v 500MHz
I have been running the Tracer at the highest setting without increasing northbridge voltage. I have also experimented with custom settings to tighten or loosen things up. The Tracers remained stable through out the tests. To PC modders who can't stop tinkering with their computers, that is like paradise.
Besides its impressive over-clocking capability, the Tracer is also good at managing heat with its built-in heatsink. After torturing it with Memtest for over 5 hours, it was just slightly warm to the touch. I could barely feel it. Memtest reported zero area.
It would be difficult to talk about the Tracer without mentioning the LEDs. After all that is what put the Tracer in a class of its own and is the only difference between the Tracer and its plain jane Ballistix cousin. The Tracers has two sets of LEDs, one set at the bottom where the connectors are, the other on top and is linked to the memory bus so memory access induces blinking of various patterns. Watching the LEDs blink is like watching dancing fire in fireplace. It is quite mesmerizing. Some might complain that the LEDs are too bright. I wish there is a blinking on/off switch. Crucial has made a special edition Tracer without the top blinking LEDs for Newegg's '07 Lanfest. In that version the bottom non-blinking LEDs light up the SIMM like it is hoovering slightly off the memory slots.
The Tracer used to be at the top price bracket among high performance memory of the same class, but currently Crucial is offering rebates through various distributors. These rebate brings down the price significantly.

Installed these for a HTPC and they are working great. The price dropped so I'm gonna buy a couple more sticks! They aren't overclocked, but I heard that they do overclock well. I would recommend them to anyone looking for good, stable RAM.

TopPrettiest RAM sticks I've seen!
Strengths: Lots of lights galore!, well known brand (Micron), has heat plate
Weakness: heard the heat plate is fragile and may come off easily if tugged on, price price price!
I got these mainly for the lights. These lights display how much RAM is used by the speed of the movement of lights. There are LED lights on the top(yellow, red, green) and blue lights where the RAM sticks into the socket to give a "ground effect." I have no overclocked these but I heard these overclock well due to their parent company, Micron. Honestly for the price of $130, it's not worth it when companies are dropping to $70's for 2gb's. I just had to get these because of the lights.

Very good RAM modules for the price. The blue LEDs on the bottom create a nice glow effect on the motherboard, and the strobing LEDs on top give the machine a nice look.
Automatically recognized by the BIOS and configured properly right out of the box on my EVGA 680i motherboard. I just ordered a second set to bring my machine up to 4 gigs.

Strengths: RAM runs solid at 1.8v. Heat spreader/cover combo keeps RAM cool.
Weakness: None noticed.
While the blinky blinky "tracer" LEDs are waaaay over the edge in the gawdy category, the RAM itself appears well made, and has operated for the last week at 1.8v just fine. In addition, my computer case is a bit on the weak side when it comes to airflow, but these DIMMs appear to be running cool. I think the covers are doing a good job of dissipating heat from the memory chips.
