(Edited December 22nd by modoguru) Bought two Fujitsu U320 147GB 10K hard drives as spares for a SCSI disc array. I got around to using them about 80 days after purchasing them, and discovered they were defective. The Serversupply.com representative I talked to refused to exchange them, citing their 30 day return policy. I suggested they take them both back and just send me 1 replacement drive, and they refused that as well. I then later got a call from Harun, the CEO, told him my story, and he credited me for the whole order, even the shipping. Now I am very very satisfied. |

I ordered what was advertised on their site as a "new" IBM server hard drive. When the drive arrived there was NO WAY this thing was close to new condition. The labels were pealing off and faded and the drive cage was broken. I ordered this drive and paid next day air shipping to replace a failed drive in a RAID array in a production server. The drive I was replacing was also a "new" drive I had bought from these guys just a few months before... Stay away from the used junk they are pawning off as "new". you're just buying someone elses problem. There is a reson they are half the price of other vendors. they are selling used equipment as "new". |

The WD2500JB hard drive delivered was formated NTFS which normaly I wouldn't mind since I can zero out with the Western Digital Tools back to base WD specs. But the Drive didn't pass any of the WD basic tests and WD tool failed to completly clean the drive. The Drive however still works the only reason not a one star. I overlayed drive with a linux kernel and worked ok I just got lucky I guess. Don't know how long the drive will work since it was formated so must be reconditioned drive that was cheap ($48). The Company didn't bother to run simple tests on the use drive to see if the drive was valid to ship is beyond me. Overall got it cheap, fast and "works" for now. |
