Description

Crime is 'the new black." The world teeters on the verge of anarchy. Law enforcement recruitment has plummeted - no one wants to be in the firing line. All forms of policing across the globe have united to form the Agency. But still it's not enough. The Peacekeepers are barely able to keep what little peace there is. Desperate times, desperate measures... The Agency is exploiting the work of disgraced scientist Doctor Baltazar Czernenko (rumored to now be in the employ of Shai-Gen). His underground eugenics program uses a near lethal cocktail of cutting edge technology and military grade pharmaceuticals to propel the human race to a whole new level. Now, that same program is being used to create agents of justice: superior to conventional law enforcers in every way, and capable of rapid physiological evolution. Rival factions - the gangs - are taking over increasing amounts of territory. The Agency is making a last stand in the heart of Pacific City in a high-security compound known as the Keep. Access is restricted and guarded by Peacekeepers. Around the world, hundreds of thousands of new law enforcement agents will be coming online, each one capable of replacing an entire police force. These potent prototypes are ready, willing, and able to use unreasonable force to wipe all crime from the face of the Earth. With your help, this will be the ultimate crackdown.

Crackdown (XB360)

Strengths: (1) Excellent presentation/graphic style (2) Provides a different version of sanbox/open ended gameplay with unique attribute upgrades

Weakness: (1) Repetitive mission structure

Crackdown is a good looking, fun little sandbox-style diversion for the XBOX 360. The action is rendered in a cell shaded/illustrative look that is very appealing and looks great in action. It is also very entertaining to play in different ways in order to upgrade different abilities. The environment and NPC interaction really gets better and better as you gain better abilities and increase in...

Easy fun that's addictive!

Strengths: Easy to build up your character in athletics, shooting and explosives. Good sized three dimensional environment where your imagination is the limit on what you can try.

Weakness: I found driving difficult at first; killed a lot of civilians on sidewalks. Wish there was some drivers training or videos to get the hang of it. Background street profanity and comments (why?)

This is not the best game I have played nor is the concept, character development or environment original BUT, this game is still lots of fun. I have spent hours trying to find all the Orbs and building my character in lieu of killing bad guys. I skipped killing some bosses to kill the top guys to see if I could do it, and I could, which made me think the game was too easy. You can jack anycar...

Crackdown stands high above GTA clones simply...

Strengths: A unique graphical style. Excellent sound design. Large open ended world. Collecting things in this game is actually enjoyable. Amazing draw distance. Full Xbox Live Coop. Creative achievements.

Weakness: Story is almost nonexistent. Missions consist of just killing the bad guys. Enemy bosses are rather weak. The announcer, although good, is quite repetitive and off the mark most of the time.

Often erroneously compared to the Grand Theft Auto series, and even Saint's Row, Crackdown distinguishes itself from the rest of the opened ended pack by having one thing that all those others do not; Verticality. The ability to scale buildings at will simply by leaping from ledge to ledge and eventually rooftop to rooftop is quite an accomplishment. This alone would be enough for most gamers to...

AWESOME GAME

Strengths: Great Story, Fun Game, Action Packed

Weakness: Graphics arent the best

Highly unique game. Extremely fun in its replay value and just a great all around game. I had alot of fun collecting all the orbs and upgrading my character. And taking down all of the other gangs. It also has a lot of great achievments to collect for gamerscore points. HIGHLY RECOMENDED GAME IF YOU LIKE ACTION/SHOOTING GAMES!

Futuristic GTA Clone

Strengths: Fun Game, Lots to Do. If your a fan of Grand Theft Auto and Saints Row this game will help tide you over till the next GTA arrives early next year. This game is set in the future.

Weakness: Not especially long. Saints Row is better in my opinion.

I think if your looking for your GTA fix then this is the game for you. Big Sandbox to roam around in. Your character is a futuristic cop with superpowers. Fun concept. I recommend it.

Crackdown Xbox 360

Strengths: Massive and open free roaming world. Fun and addictive sand box gameplay that lets you jump like the hulk and run like the flash.

Weakness: There's really no story. Not exactly next gen graphics. Can be a little too easy at times.

I bought Crackdown thinking that it would be just mindless fun and doing like what the trailer and previews showed, jumping from rooftop to rooftop just shooting the bad guys. The game pretty much delivered that expection in aces and man is it fun just going all over the place looking for the blue orbs (it's hard to describe how fun and obsessive it is to hunt for every one of these blue pulsing...

Good Game, few flaws

Strengths: open world, many collectibles, lots of things to do, plenty of downloadable content

Weakness: slowdown at times

This is a really good game, definitely a game that every xbox owner should have. It is a cross between grand theft auto and superhero games. Only problem is the occasional slow down when a lot is on the screen.

Free Roaming Fun

Strengths: Gameplay, graphics, achivements, Downloadable Content

Weakness: Nothing

Most folk bought Crackdown for the Halo 3 Beta, but the actual game holds up very well. The gameplay is very open ended with plenty of cool missions to complete. The graphics have a comic book feel, but really don't effect the gameplay at all. Now that the Halo 3 Beta is over and the price has dropped to $39.99, I suggest picking up a copy. There are plenty of 360 achievements and the...

Crackdown Review

Strengths: Wide open gameplay

Weakness: Story

Crackdown is a similar game to Grand Theft Auto, but it is hard to compare them. Crackdown features heroes with super strength and agility so they can pick up cars and jump over buildings. The game is very fun and you can mess around for hours. The only let down is that the story part is pretty short but there is still plenty to do once you complete it.

The Downlow on Crackdown

Strengths: Looks good. Okay gameplay. Almost like a futuristic GTA. Almost.

Weakness: All the parts are good but nothing is excellent.

Crackdown is a very good game but there isn't any bit it does excellent enough to make the game stand above and beyond the other games it's trying to emulate. There's good character development, good combat, good side missions, good open-endedness, good graphics. But none of it takes a step beyond. This is a good game to try but afterwards it's probably trade bait. Also, the Halo Beta is over by...

Crackdown | Xbox 360 - Platinum Hits

A third person free roaming action game by Real Time World studios, who was founded by the lead designer on Grand Theft Auto 1 and 2. Players assume the role of an agent working for the agency and have been tasked to take down the various gangs that have plagued the ultra violent city. Crackdown is a unique take on the genre as its the first game to completely forgo any kind of story and focuses...

Crackdown

Well, here we are - a next generation Grand Theft Auto-style game that was actually developed by the creator of GTA, David Jones. The legacy of GTA blew up when GTA III was released for PS2 by offering gamers an almost limitless number of gameplay possibilities. Crackdown for the Xbox 360 keeps the near limitless gameplay possibilities but ditches the whole gangster/mafia theme of GTA. Instead of...
